***Written statement from Stu G (founding member of Delirious? and curator of The Beatitudes Project)
I was utterly shocked when on February 24th, The Russian military invaded Ukraine.
I have visited and played music in Ukraine many times over the years with Delirious? and Michael W. Smith. We made many friends.
I've had a heavy heart in the weeks since. Through my work with The Beatitudes Project, I've learned that violence and bloodshed are the problems and not the solution.
We want to do something but feel helpless.
What can we do? What's in our hands right now?
We can pray for peace. If that's all you can do, that is the most you can do!
If we have something to give, we can find a good place to give it.
I recently spent some time with my great friend and former bandmate Martin Smith, and I learned of the Pray For Peace event he and his wife Anna are hosting in Brighton on March 27th. They are gathering to pray, worship, and give.
Often in my hands is a guitar. I wanted to show my support for the people of Ukraine and asked my friends at RedLetter Apparel Co if they could make me a "NO MORE WAR" decal for my guitar. It's a small gesture of standing for peace with the people of Ukraine.
These are now available to buy at their online store. You can get one for your guitar or case and stand with us for peace.
It's a small thing to do, but it makes a difference. All proceeds will go to helping Ukrainian refugees.
We are joining Martin and Anna in working with Tearfund, who are on the ground helping Ukrainian Refugees. The funds raised will go to Tearfund partners providing immediate needs such as food, bedding, clothing, temporary accommodation, and trauma counseling for Ukrainian refugees in Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova.
So please help us by Praying For Peace, buying a No More War decal, or donating at the link here if you can.
